Elton John is preparing a special setlist for his upcoming concerts in Mexico City, giving local fans a show designed specifically for them. In a recent concert announcement, the singer confirmed that the performances will not repeat the program from his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
The two concerts are scheduled for October 2 and 3 at Estadio Banorte. John said he has selected a completely new collection of songs for the Mexico dates, making the shows different from his recent farewell performances.
The concerts will mark his first appearances in Mexico City in 14 years. They also give him a chance to reconnect with fans he was unable to visit during the Latin American portion of his farewell plans, which was disrupted by the pandemic.
Although John completed his farewell tour in 2023, he has continued to appear at selected events and special performances. The Mexico City shows are being presented as a separate concert experience rather than a return to full-scale touring.
Tickets for both dates have gone on sale.
