September 3-5 at the Callaway Gardens. Festivites begin Friday Night at Robin Lake Beach for Balloon Glow, where upbeat music plays as the balloons are inflated against the sunset. On both Sat/Sun the balloons head for the open skies, weather permitting, at sunrise and sunset. Meanwhile, a family festivla on Robin Lake Beach features events for all ages. The Men’s Club of Eclectic United Methodist Church will hold their Annual Labor Day Barbecue and Camp Stew Sale on Monday, September 6th.
Pre-orders are recommended by August 23, as only limited quantities will be available for sale on Labor Day without a pre-order. Orders may be picked up at the church on Labor Day, (Mon., Sept. 6) from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Prices are as follows: Boston Butts -- $30.00, CampStew -- $8.00 per quart and BBQ Meat -- $9.00 per pound. Details and Contact: The Alabama Department of Mental Health%u2019s (ADMH) 6th Annual Capitol Showcase Consumer Art Exhibition will run from October 1-October 28 in the Old Supreme Court Library of the State Capitol. Hundreds of consumers around the state with mental illnesses, intellectual disabilities, and/or substance use disorders will showcase their artwork throughout the month. The Capitol Showcase Consumer Art Exhibition is an excellent opportunity to promote consumer dignity and gain more understanding of individuals ADMH serves. This exhibit is about more than just the artists%u2019 work. They also have the opportunity to share their heartfelt testimonies about the obstacles they have overcome in their lives, why art is an important part of their recovery, and why they enjoy creating art.

The Montgomery Half-Marathon presented by Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama and benefitting the Joy to Life Foundation and in support of Hope For The Warriors is quickly becoming one of the premier running events in the south. With a half-marathon, 5K, and kids one-mile run, there's something for everyone! Athletes of all ages and running abilities are welcome to participate in one of our events.
All walkers are highly encouraged to join us as long as you finish within the time limit of 4 hours for the Half Marathon and 1 hour for the Capital City 5K. |

Funds raised at the 2009 tournament benefitted local organizations such as PASS, the Boys Scouts of America, Alabama Teen Challenge, the Public Safety Insurance Fund, Alabama Wildlife Federation, Miss Fountain City, Common Ground Montgomery, Prattville YMCA "Coach a Child Campaign," Leadership Autauga County, Prattville-Autauga Humane Society, Prattville-Autauga Character Coalition, and the Baptist Health Care Foundation. Funds raised also benefitted international efforts, including polio eradication and bringing clean drinking water to developing nations.
